PAWtoberfest organizers hope to raise dollars for transport van

PAWtoberfest is essentially upon us, with native beer and native track for a pretty good native trigger.

The annual fundraiser will take region Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. on the region to Be, a new tavern near the nook of Seventh and J streets in Hoquiam. There's no entry price, but of course donations should be gladly authorized for PAWS of Grays Harbor, the native no-kill animal protect.

"We hope to pack the condominium and get our funds specially from the silent auction and the drawing," pointed out Molle Bouch, board president of PAWS.

The silent auction will consist of a business-dimension Pepsi fridge, high-greenback reward certificates, present baskets valued at $100 to $300, and lots extra.

"additionally, Westport vineyard and Brady's Oysters are doing this spectacular clean seafood platter so that you'd have fresh seafood that night to take home," said Bouch. "And associate Animal health center donated a year of kitten or doggy care, which is value $500. That's all of the shots, the spay/neuter, all their checkups — that's a tremendous element."

besides the silent public sale, two special prizes could be raffled off — "but we're kinda protecting these a secret," smiled Bouch.

The Hoquiam-based Feelin' good Band will function a mix of 1980s and '90s favorites, jazz, blues and more.

"from time to time they throw in a rustic song simply to throw you off," laughed Bouch. "They've got anything for all and sundry."

A beer backyard can be set up within the lower back, featuring Steam Donkey specialty brews and Tart difficult Cider from Olympia.

All proceeds will go toward the purchase of an animal transport van to exchange PAWS' worn-out 2006 Ford E-450 tremendous responsibility.

"I suppose just in the final year, we've put $7,000 into our PAWS van (for repairs), and over the years it's been a whole lot," pointed out Bouch. "And it's a diesel; it receives about 5 miles to the gallon. It's time to retire it and get whatever greater effective."

She said the van funds is $15,000 to $20,000, in order that's the fundraising purpose for PAWtoberfest.
