Cape Coral drops suggestion to ban the retail sale of cats and canine

Cape Coral Council participants voted to withdraw a proposed pet ordinance that could ban the retail sale of cats and canine.

past this month, Cape Coral city Council proposed the ordinance that might influence one pet save in the metropolis.

Leaders with the Gulf Coast Humane Society said this ordinance would help shelters with overpopulation problems.

"by means of bringing puppies in all the time, it simply provides to that difficulty," the executive Director with the Gulf Coast Humane Society, Jennifer Galloway pointed out.

The one pet save that would be impacted, Patriot Pet resources, observed this could damage enterprise.

"it will have taken a very good deal of income and foot traffic out of the store," the proprietor, Shane Reinhardt referred to.

Reinhardt defined all the pups he sells are taken care of.

"They're very well taken care of, each of doggies goes domestic with us on the conclusion of the night. We're fairly a good deal the only save who does that," Reinhardt brought up.

Reinhardt noted his pet store is the only manner some families can choose the actual dog they want.
